This morning I got to meet and photograph little Belle, her sister Ruby and the proud parents, Skye and Sam. She was an absolute dream and is absolutely gorgeous! It was a joy photographing her and her family – hope you enjoy!
So, you want to take better photos of your kids but you’re not sure how to go about it? I’ve compiled some basic tips to help you on your way. Keep in mind, these are only guidelines, they’re not set in stone. Some of my examples even break some of the rules! If you take a photo and it’s caught that cheeky grin you love, it’s going to be your favourite no matter how many rules you break. 1. Get down to their level. Instead of standing and taking photos down on your kids, get the camera level with them. This might mean you’re lying on the ground on… Keep Reading
I had an impromptu photo shoot with little Henry yesterday. He is getting so good at holding his head up so I thought I’d try to capture it. He peed on the carpet but it was worth it. hahaha
I took my best friend’s little boy to the park today to get some photos (she and her husband was there too, I didn’t steal him). He is 9 months old and is so adorable! It’s such a great age for photos, they can sit up but can’t escape too easily because they can’t walk yet! He only had smiles for Daddy this afternoon, his whole face lit up whenever Dad was around. I hope you like them Catherine 🙂
Talk about cutting it fine! My friend Tiffany had her baby girl, Addison Elizabeth, on New Year’s Eve – 3 days after her maternity shoot! I visited her in hospital tonight and got to meet their little Princess. She is adorable! And of course, I brought my camera! Congratulations Tiffany, Aaron, Mia and Jasmine on the new arrival.
I am still on maternity leave, but my good friends Tiffany and Aaron are having their third little girl and I just had to take some photos for them. Tiffany is such a beautiful pregnant mumma and it was an absolute joy capturing what she tells me will probably be her last pregnancy. You can come out now baby girl! We all want to meet you!
This Christmas was a very special one for us here in the Johnston household as it was our first with baby Henry. Henry was born 12th October 2013 and he has turned our lives upside down! One of the unfortunate drawbacks of being the photographer in the family means I didn’t have any nice photos of Henry and me, so Christmas morning we had an impromptu photo shoot in our bed. I also got a few nice shots of Henry and hubby. I can’t wait until he’s older and gets to experience the Christmas magic like only a child can.
A brand new business name means a brand new website! It was a great opportunity to start from scratch (not that I had much choice because my hubby’s computer crashed and the old website info went with it)! I’ve also overhauled my pricing and print packages and am happy to announce that due to overwhelming demand, I am now offering digital copies of photos in my packages. Contact me for my information. I am currently on maternity leave but will be starting to take bookings for April this year.
